It was extremely gratifying to see the high turnout for the 50:50 Group Inaugral Public Meeting on Monday 30 May 2011. It is important that the Group continue to advance the rational and pragmatic basis – as well as the moral basis – for the gender parity argument. Quite simply, in the current economic impasse it is sinful to waste diverse leadership talent and resources in any domain of Irish life, but particularly at the level of political representation.
