Meeting will be chaired by Justine McCarthy

Justine McCarthy, journalist with the Sunday Times will Chair this event which will give the general public; women running for the first time as a candidate and those who will consider offering support to candidates to meet and hear the real stories from the campaign trail.  

The 5050 Group is a voluntary organisation which has been campaigning for gender quota legislation. Whilst this has now been achieved, implementation is key and ongoing pressure is vital to ensure political parties step up to the mark and encourage more women to run and succeed as candidates.

The Dublin 50:50 Group are organising an event on Tuesday 26th November. This is to support women who want to put themselves forward for election. It will also be a help to those that want to help out in an election campaign. If we want a greater presence of women at the decision making table then we need to help get them there.
